Membership

     All residents of Gallatin County are entitled to a FREE library card.  To get a card, residents provide information regarding their address and telephone number and show identification with their name and Gallatin County address.  Children under 16 without an official I.D. must have a parent's signature.

Member Benefits

     A valid library card entitles the member to borrow materials without charge from the Gallatin County Public Library (GCPL)..  If the needed material is not immediately available, it may be placed on RESERVE.  Materials GCPL does not own may be obtained other libraries through INTERLIBRARY LOAN at no charge.

Talking Books

       Books recorded on records and cassettes along with the equipment to use them are provided free to the blind and physically handicapped. Brochures are available at the library.  For more information about this service please call the library at 859.567.2786.

LARGE  TYPE  PRINT  BOOKS are available.  We also receive a rotating collection of large type print books from the KY Dept of Libraries and Archives.

Loan Polices

     Most circulating materials, including audios, may be BORROWED for two (2) weeks.  Materials may be RENEWED, in person or by telephone, for an additional period of two (2) weeks, providing material has not been reserved.

Video and DVD circulation is a THREE day period with NO renewal and they cannot be reserved.

A service charge is assessed for OVERDUE materials.

A book drop is conveniently located in the Library parking lot to return materials after hours.
